| Chat Help: Features and Options |
To log in, simply enter your username in the Login field located on DewDadsWeb CHAT page. If your name is registered, enter your password, and press Enter or click the Login button. If this is your first time to enter chat, click the Register button. Fill in the requested information (nick, password and e-mail required) and you are ready to chat - no waiting for e-mailed passwords. At this time, guest logins are accepted, but that may not always be the case (using a name without a password). To communicate in the chat room, type your message into the Text Input Field at the bottom of the applet, and press Enter or click Send to send your message. Your message will appear in the Main Chat Window. Double click on a user's name in the User list (or right click on their name) to send them a private direct message. You will notice various buttons within the chat room. These allow you to view emoticons, view sounds, shrink or enlarge the font, create a room, logout and more.  Emoticons (Images) are textual representations of emotions, for conveying feelings in an atmosphere where it would be difficult to express them otherwise. Press the emoticon button to view available emoticons. At any time you can simply type the code (..smiley, for example) and press Enter to display an emoticon. Audio sounds are available by typing *rooster* or *slap* (for example). Click the Audio button to view available sounds. To ignore another user, right click on the User's name and select Ignore To un-ignore, right click again on the User's name and de-select Ignore Rooms A user created room will be in the list of availabe rooms. A public room can be joined from the room list. A private room can only be joined if you have the password. Be sure to send the password in a direct message to those you are inviting to your private room. You will need to download a copy of the Java™ Virtual Machine in order to run our application.
